Fish image segmentation

This project aims to create a platform for histological analysis of different microscopy sections of fish. This includes the analysis of muscle fibers, intestinal fibers (fiber length), foveal structures, among others (2021-2023).

Role: Researcher, engineer/developer.

Contract Research: IaLINK

FishHisto is a cutting-edge digital platform designed to revolutionize histological analysis in ichthyology and aquaculture research. This comprehensive tool enables researchers to conduct detailed examinations of various microscopic fish tissue sections, including muscle fibers, intestinal structures, and foveal formations. By leveraging advanced image processing and analysis techniques, FishHisto streamlines the quantification of key histological parameters such as fiber length and structural characteristics.

The platform aims to standardize and accelerate the process of histological assessment in fish, providing researchers with robust data for studies in fish physiology, pathology, and aquaculture optimization. FishHisto’s user-friendly interface and powerful analytical capabilities make it an invaluable asset for both academic research and commercial aquaculture applications, potentially advancing our understanding of fish biology and improving aquaculture practices
